James Lovey is a Senior Investment Associate at Company Ventures, where James invests in early-stage startups in NYC. Prior to this role, James worked as an Innovation Strategy Consultant at Fahrenheit 212, focusing on commercial strategy, customer research, UX, & web/app design for Fortune 500 companies. Before that, James was a Mechanical Design Engineer at Bresslergroup, working on consumer, medical, & military product development. James also has experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Advanced Plasma Solutions Co. Inc. and Laser Technology, Inc., and as a Traffic Engineer at Maser Consulting. James holds a Master’s Degree in Integrated Product Design and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to investing in pre-seed/seed companies, Company Ventures operates the Grand Central Tech Residency, an annual program purposefully built to support NYC’s premier founding teams. The program provides rent-free space in our 1M sq. ft. midtown NYC tech campus to 25 startups per year with no equity requirement. Since the program’s inception in 2014, 127 program companies have raised $1.9B from top VCs.
