Kimathi Marangu

Kimathi Marangu serves as Chairman of SamCERA, overseeing a $7 billion pension fund for public employees in Silicon Valley, while also holding positions as Vice Chairman and Audit Committee Chair. In addition to board roles at multiple organizations including the Council on Foreign Relations and Compass Family Services, Kimathi is a Life Member at the Council on Foreign Relations and an Audit Committee and Advisory Board Member at Stanford Federal Credit Union. With extensive experience at Visa, including roles as Global Head of Prepaid and Senior Director of Global Loyalty Products, Kimathi has significantly influenced payment solutions and customer engagement. Previous roles include board member at the American Red Cross Bay Area, Chairman of The Vassar Fund, and leadership positions in innovative companies like Plastic Jungle and Cartera Commerce. Kimathi holds an MBA from Stanford University and a degree in Economics from Vassar College.
