Marissa Leslie

Marissa Leslie, MD has an extensive work experience in the field of psychiatry. Marissa is currently the Medical Director at Compass Health Center, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Howard University College of Medicine starting in 2021. From 2016 to present, they served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Marissa also held various roles at Adventist HealthCare, including System Medical Director of Psychiatry from 2020 to 2023, Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Shady Grove Medical Center from 2018 to 2023, and Medical Director of Shady Grove Medical Center from 2013 to 2018. Before that, they worked at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as a Medical Director and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist from 2009 to 2013. Marissa also worked as a Staff Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist at Consortium, Inc. from 2007 to 2009, and as a Mentor at Congreso de Latinos Unidos from 2006 to 2008.

Marissa Leslie, MD has a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine from Loma Linda University. Marissa also holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from Oakwood University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Leslie has obtained additional certifications in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. Marissa has also completed a Certificate in Healthcare Management from the Yale School of Management and a Certificate in the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma from Harvard University. In 2021, Dr. Leslie obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Adventist HealthCare. Marissa has also completed the Global Mental Health: Trauma and Recovery Certificate Program from the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma.
