Avisheh Mohsenin

Avisheh Mohsenin has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Avisheh currently serves as the Chair of the Adopt-a-Monument Committee at the Houston Arts Foundation since 2018. Prior to this role, Avisheh was the Vice President at Compass Lexecon, where they worked on numerous cases involving damages, corporate governance, market efficiency, and more. Avisheh specialized in securities litigation, financial statement analysis, and valuation, while also managing and training research analysts.

Avisheh Mohsenin also has a background in non-profit work, having served as the President and Founding Board Member of Pasfarda Arts & Cultural Exchange since 2007. In this role, they focused on coalition building, strategy, marketing, event management, and membership recruitment. Avisheh organized events and fundraisers, as well as established key relationships with various organizations, artists, academics, and art publicists to foster cultural understanding between Iranians and Americans.

Earlier in their career, Avisheh worked as a Data Analyst at Riverside Publishing from 1999 to 2001, where they played a role in the design, development, and quality assurance of data analysis procedures for educational and assessment tests. Avisheh gained experience in item response analysis, scaling, norming, and data manipulation.

Avisheh's work history includes research assistantships at Illinois State University. As a Research Assistant, they conducted content analysis of Iranian publications related to women's movement and analyzed United Nation's WISTAT data. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Assistant, assisting in creating an online course assignment system and collaborating closely with department heads.

Avisheh Mohsenin completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Economics at the University of Tehran from 1991 to 1996. Avisheh then pursued a Master of Science degree in Applied Economics at Illinois State University from 1997 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification as a 200 Hrs Yoga Instructor from Yoga Alliance in February 2016.
