Hariprasad Govinda, PhD, is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in the field of competition and regulatory economics. Currently serving as Principal Economist at The Competition Commission of South Africa since July 2013, Hariprasad has previously held the positions of Senior Economist and Associate Fellow at CUTS Institute for Regulation & Competition. Prior to these roles, contributions were made as a Doctoral Fellow at Jawaharlal Nehru University, where Hariprasad completed a PhD in Economics, focusing on Strategic Entry Deterrents, Competition, and Efficiency. Additional experience includes working as an Expert in Economic Matters at the Competition Commission of India and holding an M Phil in Environmental and Resource Economics. Hariprasad also possesses knowledge of Spanish, having studied at Instituto Hispania.
