Richard Sharpe has a long and successful career in the supply chain industry. Richard began their career in 1980 as a Strategic Planner - Manufacturing with AT&T/Western Electric. In 1982, they moved to Bell South as a Strategic Manager, where they were responsible for setting up the supply chain technology infrastructure and creating a centralized database and nomenclature structure. In 1989, Richard became President of CAPS Logistics, Inc., a logistics software and services company, and grew the company at an average rate of 68% per year for seven years. In 2006, they became an Officer and Founding Member of the American Logistics Aid Network, a non-profit organization. In 2007, they were appointed Special Advisor for World 50, Inc., a private forum for sharing insights on critical issues. In 2015, they began teaching Executive Education courses in Cost To Serve and Supply Chain Risk Management at the Georgia Tech Supply Chain & Logistics Institute. Finally, Richard formed Competitive Insights, LLC in 1998, where they currently serve as CEO, providing customers with effective analytics focused on generating and protecting profitable performance.

Richard Sharpe attended the University of Florida from 1972 to 1977, where they received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (IE). Richard then went on to the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1978 to 1980, where they earned a Master of Science in Industrial & Systems Engineering.
