Karen Yamada currently serves as a KYC & Governance Coordinator at SumUp since August 2024. Karen has extensive experience in compliance roles, having also held positions such as Senior Consultant at Lippi Advocacia Empresarial and Manager of Policy Enforcement at Nubank, where responsibilities included overseeing policy enforcement and compliance management. As a member of the Compliance Women Committee since May 2019, Karen is actively involved in promoting professional development and support within the compliance sector. Previous roles include Compliance Coordinator at both Airfox and banQi, and Compliance Analyst at Edenred and Banco Brasil Plural, where Karen contributed to the establishment of compliance frameworks and governance standards. Karen holds an MBA in Financial Management, Compliance, and Risk from Trevisan Escola de Negócios and a bachelor's degree in Administration from Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo.
