Maricel Saenz

Founder & CEO at Compound Foods

Maricel Saenz is the founder and CEO of Compound Foods, a company that leverages synthetic biology to develop antibiotic alternatives and offer solutions to the antibiotic resistance crisis. Prior to founding Compound Foods, Maricel was a consultant at Monitor Deloitte and a Global Solutions Program Fellow at Singularity University. Maricel has a passion for using technology to solve humanity’s grand challenges and is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of billions of people around the world.

Saenz attended the British School of Costa Rica where they completed the IB Diploma program. Afterwards, they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in finance at The University of British Columbia. Saenz has also completed two certificates, one in entrepreneurship/business scaling from Stanford University and another in the global solutions program from Singularity University.
