Vice President Of Clinical Content Solutions at Concert Genetics

Cheryl Hess has a diverse range of work experience in the field of genetic counseling and product management. Cheryl started their career at Henry Ford Health System as a Genetic Counselor from August 2002 to October 2004. Following that, they worked as a Genetic Counselor at Wayne State University Physician Group's Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy from October 2004 to March 2012. Cheryl then joined Detroit Medical Center University Laboratories, where they served as a Genetic Counselor with a focus on Test Utilization Management from March 2012 to October 2015.

In November 2015, Cheryl transitioned to Concert Genetics and worked as an Account Manager until January 2017. In this role, they were the primary contact for hospital customers using Concert's genetic test ordering platform and provided support and guidance regarding lab stewardship goals. Cheryl then moved on to the position of Product Analyst from February 2017 to February 2019, contributing their genetic expertise to the agile product development process. Cheryl actively developed data and software solutions to support multi-stakeholder processes within the Genetic Health Information Network. From February 2019 onwards, they assumed the role of a Product Manager at Concert Genetics, overseeing product enhancements and new product build, as well as communicating the value of new products to internal and external stakeholders.

Throughout their career, Cheryl has also been involved in professional organizations. Cheryl served as the Vice President of the Michigan Association of Genetic Counselors from January 2012 to December 2013, and later became the President of the organization from January 2020 to December 2021. Additionally, they held the position of Co-Chair of the Test Utilization Sub-Committee and Industry Special Interest Group at the National Society of Genetic Counselors from June 2013 to December 2017.

Cheryl Hess has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Genetics from Case Western Reserve University. Cheryl also pursued a degree in Zoology at Michigan State University. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Certified Genetic Counselor from the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
