Ben Thornton

Ben Thornton has a diverse range of work experience in the software engineering field. Ben is currently working as a Staff Software Engineer at Concord Servicing since September 2022. Prior to that, they were a Lead Software Engineer at InVision from February 2022 to July 2022.

Ben also spent a significant time at Alkami Technology, where they held various roles. Ben served as a Software Engineering Manager from November 2020 to October 2021. Before that, they worked as a Lead Software Engineer from September 2019 to November 2020, and as a Senior Software Engineer from January 2018 to September 2019.

In their previous positions, Ben worked as a Senior Software Engineer at One Technologies from March 2016 to January 2018. During their time there, they re-wrote a monolithic .NET customer enrollment system into a distributed, containerized microservice-based architecture deployed on AWS. Ben also implemented new microservices in Go.

Before that, Ben worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Match.com from February 2015 to March 2016. Ben was responsible for developing and maintaining Windows services that sent millions of email messages and push notifications globally. Ben also designed stored procedures for automated batch email and push campaigns and supported the overseas development team with Razor-based email template development.

Ben started their career as a Software Developer at Concentra from March 2010 to July 2011, where they worked on ASP.NET applications for EHR management. Prior to that, they worked at Simmons Sirvey Corporation as a Software Developer from February 2008 to August 2009, where they developed database-driven software in ASP.NET and VB.NET for inventory management and report generation.

Ben Thornton attended Texas A&M University from 2003 to 2006, where they studied Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Ben then transferred to The University of Texas at Dallas and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from 2006 to 2009.
