Erica-Lynn Porta has a diverse work experience. In 2017, they worked as a Research Intern at The Abraham Fund Initiatives. In 2018, they served as a Student Representative of Gettysburg College at the Oxford Consortium for Human Rights. Erica-Lynn also held the role of Kolbe Research Fellow at Gettysburg College, where they conducted independent research on water politics in the Middle East and North Africa using various research methods and data analysis programs. Erica-Lynn was a Researcher at the Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College in 2018-2019, focusing on water resources governance in the Loxahatchee River District.

In 2019, they volunteered as a Project Assistant at Raritan Headwaters, assisting with land stewardship and developing interactive maps. Erica-Lynn also worked as a Graduate Student and Teaching/Research Assistant at Oregon State University from 2019 to 2021.

In 2020, Erica-Lynn co-founded the North American Youth Parliament for Water and served as its Co-President. Erica-Lynn also worked as an International Intern at EcoPeace Middle East, where they developed and integrated materials based on the Blue Peace movement into their programs.

From 2021 to 2022, they worked as an Environmental Analyst at NEIWPCC, and currently, they hold the position of Energy and Climate Analyst at Concurrent Technologies Corporation, starting in October 2022.

Erica-Lynn Porta completed their education with a Master of Science (MS) degree in Water Resources Policy & Management from Oregon State University, which they pursued from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they attended Gettysburg College from 2015 to 2019 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Government, Environmental Science, and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies.

In addition to their formal education, Erica-Lynn Porta also obtained certifications in IWRM for climate resilience from Cap-Net UNDP in October 2021 and in "Re-envisioning the Middle East Ecosystem: Desert Ecology and Environmental Diplomacy" from The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies in May 2021.
