Jon Killgore (Mark)

Jon (Mark) Killgore has a long and diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Jon (Mark) has held various senior-level positions in different companies throughout their career.

Jon (Mark) started their career in 1981 at Novell Data Systems as a Software Engineer, where they maintained and enhanced the CP/M BIOS for a Z-80 based product. Jon (Mark) also worked on improving the boot firmware for a networked small business computer.

In 1983, they joined Datapoint Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer. Here, they specified and coded operating system components and other supporting software for Datapoint hardware. Jon (Mark) also worked on compiler code generators for Intel architectures and added functionality to the source-code debugger.

Jon (Mark) Killgore continued their career at Novell, Inc. in 1990, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer. Jon (Mark) designed and implemented client/server systems and created solutions for Novell's QMS, NDPS, and iPrint. Jon (Mark) also wrote a NetWare-to-Linux print migration script and designed and coded the iPrint Driver Store.

In 2006, they joined Altiris, Inc. as a Software Engineer and Symantec Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer. Both positions involved working on software development projects.

From 2008 to 2009, they worked as a Software Developer at Messaging Architects, and from 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Attachmate/Novell, specializing in GroupWise Monitor agents and expanding their understanding of Perl, XML, HTML, and Java.

In 2012, they had a contract role as a Software Engineer at Ghost Pattern Software, where they ported an app from Android Java to the Samsung BADA operating system.

Most recently, Jon (Mark) Killgore worked at Cisco as a Senior Software Engineer from 2015 to 2016. Jon (Mark) primarily worked on the Detection Group, developing code in C and Lua, maintaining Python scripts, and working on network packet traffic identification and application classification and filtering.

In 2017, they joined Concurrent Technologies Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer, continuing their work in software development.

Jon (Mark) Killgore attended Alamo Heights High School from 1968 to 1971. After completing their high school education, they enrolled at Brigham Young University from 1971 to 1980 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science.
