Xiyan Zhu

Xiyan Zhu is currently a Research Intern at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Ho Lab, focusing on imaging malaria parasites using cry-EM microscopy and analyzing data with Linux and EMAN 2. In addition to this role, Xiyan serves as a Ringle Tutor and Campus Ambassador, where efforts have resulted in over 100 referrals and expanded outreach on campus. Xiyan has also worked as a soccer referee for the Tennessee Soccer Program, managing high-tension situations, and previously tutored students to improve their ACT scores through Wyzant. As the Vice President of the Tennessee Technology Student Association, Xiyan chaired the Membership Committee. Xiyan is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Columbia University, expected to graduate in May 2025.
