Tómas Vignir Guðlaugsson

Tómas Vignir Guðlaugsson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Tómas Vignir started their career as a Senior Firefighter at the Fire and Emergency Services, US Naval Air Station Keflavik, and worked there from May 1999 to August 2004. Tómas Vignir then transitioned to a technology platforms and architecture consultant role at IPU, where they contributed to the front-end of platform-based technology development for Danfoss PolyPower from June 2011 to September 2011. Tómas further explored their expertise in technology platform development as a Technology Platform Development Consultant at the Technical University of Denmark, focusing on participative action research for a large technology development project involving efficient low-cost energy generation and actuation using disruptive DEAP technology, from October 2011 to July 2015.

In 2017, Tómas joined Configit as a Configuration Engineer, responsible for configuration engineering tasks until June 2018. Tómas Vignir then progressed to become a Consulting Team Lead from June 2018 to March 2023. In this role, Tómas was accountable for managing the delivery of Configit consulting services and leading the Copenhagen Consultants. Tómas Vignir also held key responsibilities as a Consulting Manager from April 2020 to March 2023, with a focus on overall success and development of the local consulting business and consultants. Currently, they hold the position of Consulting Director at Configit, starting in January 2023, and is the accountable owner for delivering consulting services to a portfolio of clients, overseeing the Chennai Consulting unit, and managing the Copenhagen Consultants.

Tómas Vignir Guðlaugsson began their education in 2004 at DTU - Technical University of Denmark, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Design and Innovation. Tómas Vignir successfully completed this program in 2008. Following their undergraduate studies, Tómas continued their education at DTU, enrolling in the Master of Science program in Design and Innovation. Tómas Vignir studied from 2008 to 2010 and received their MSc degree during this period. Tómas went on to pursue a higher level of education and joined the DTU - Technical University of Denmark once again in 2011, this time for their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Engineering Design. Their research focus during this program was on architecture modelling in technology development. Tómas completed their PhD studies in 2016.
