Desirée Solomon

Desirée Solomon has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Desirée is currently working at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation as the Manager of Policy Research and Analysis, where they utilize their expertise to conduct research and analysis related to policy.

Prior to this role, Desirée worked at Tea & Policy, a leadership development group that they founded in 2020. As the Founder, they created professional development and community engagement opportunities for women in the DMV area to engage in policy discourse and forge professional relationships. Desirée also directed organizational strategy, oversaw day-to-day operations, and provided leadership and support to project teams.

Desirée also has experience as a Paralegal at Jackson Lewis P.C., where they conducted policy research and managed client casework portfolios in the areas of national security, labor, and immigration. Desirée prepared and filed petitions to the Department of Homeland Security and maintained communication with relevant government agencies.

Additionally, Desirée has worked as a Legal Assistant at Goel & Anderson, a Government Relations Consultant Language Specialist as a freelancer/contractor, and an Office Manager & Intake Coordinator at The Wellness Connection, LLC.

Desirée gained valuable experience through internships at the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the Peace Corps, where they focused on government relations and information technology, respectively.

Desirée started their career as an Administrative Assistant at Gonzales-Vigilar Psychiatric Services and later worked as an Assistant at Fairfax County Government.

Desirée Solomon attended George Mason University from 2015 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Affairs with a concentration in Human Security and a minor in Arabic. In 2016, they also had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Jordan, focusing on Arabic.
