David Nelson

David Nelson has extensive work experience in the field of music and percussion. David started their career as a Music Instructor for the Blue Stars drum and bugle corp. in 2000 and continued in that role until 2001. In 2002, they joined the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps as a Music Instructor, a position they held until 2006.

From 2005 to 2006, David worked as an Assistant Director of Bands at Warren Township High School. In 2011, they became a Percussion Arranger for the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, a role they held until 2017.

In 2003, David began working at Lake Central High School as the Director of Bands. David was responsible for leading the school's music program until 2018.

Currently, David is employed at Conn Selmer, where they have held various roles. David started as the Category Manager for Educational Percussion in 2018 and held the position until 2020. From 2020 to 2023, they served as the Senior Category Manager. Presently, they hold the position of Director of Product Development and Engineering at Conn Selmer, a role they have held since April 2023.

David Nelson obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Saint Xavier University, where they studied from 1999 to 2002. In addition to their degree, they also obtained a certification as a Section4 Certified Brand Strategist from Section4 in October 2022.
