John Kenny has a diverse work experience in the music industry. John was the Founder of Red Shift Octet, starting in 2008. Prior to that, they were a founder member of La Banda Europa, playing carnyx and trombone from 2006 to 2010. John also served as a Professor of trombone and sackbut at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland from 1998. John Kenny has experience as an Artistic Director at Carnyx & Co from 1997, and as a Musical Director at American Drama Group Europe from 1995. John was also an Affiliate Artist at Conn-Selmer, Inc. from 1995. Additionally, they served as a Professor for the interpretation of Contemporary Music at Guildhall School of Music & Drama from 1993.
John Kenny attended the Royal Academy of Music from 1975 to 1978, where they pursued a degree in Trombone Performance. John obtained an LRAM and ARAM degrees during this time.
