Kareem Kandi

Performing Artist / Clinician at Conn-Selmer, Inc.

Kareem Kandi has a diverse background in the music industry, with their work experience spanning over several decades. Since 2017, they have been the Executive Director of The Kareem Kandi World Orchestra, a nonprofit organization focused on providing high-quality music performances and education globally. Kareem is also a Performing Artist/Clinician for Conn-Selmer Inc. since 2019, as well as D'Addario & Company Inc. since 2016. Kareem has been an Artist in Residence at The Tacoma School of the Arts since 2002 and has led their own band, The Kareem Kandi Band, since 1996. Kareem has also served as the Director of The Tacoma Jazz Association since 2015 and was the Jazz Band Director at Pierce College from 2004 to 2014.

Kareem Kandi began their education at Stadium High School, where they completed their high school education from 1994 to 1997. Kareem then attended Tacoma Community College from 1996 to 1997, however, no degree or field of study information was provided. Kareem then pursued higher education at Olympic College from 1998 to 2000, obtaining an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Music. Finally, Kareem attended Cornish College of the Arts from 2000 to 2002, earning a Bachelor's degree in Music with a focus on Music Performance and Composition.
