Christie Marcella

Christie Marcella serves as Chief Operating Officer at Connect since September 2021 and is a Board Member of the San Diego Innovation Council as of March 2023, focusing on technology transfer within the region. As a Founding Member of San Diego Tech Hub since December 2018, Christie leads efforts to enhance diversity and inclusion in the tech workforce. Previously, Christie held the position of Executive Director at Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation from December 2019 to September 2021, where responsibilities included community-based economic development and placemaking initiatives. Christie’s extensive experience also includes roles at the City of Carlsbad in economic development and community projects from September 2012 to December 2019, and earlier positions in various administrative and planning capacities. Christie holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University.
