Gimena B. has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Senior Product Designer at Connecterra since 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Product Designer at Lightspeed HQ from 2020 to 2022. In 2019, they served as a Senior UX Designer at ZIVVER, where they led UX design initiatives and mentored junior designers. Before that, they worked as a User Experience Designer - Interaction Designer at HCL Technologies from 2016 to 2018, collaborating with agile teams and conducting user research. In 2016, they briefly worked as a User Experience and User Interface Designer at RAD Systems, Inc., focusing on web desktop property management systems. From 2014 to 2015, they were a User Experience and User Interface Designer at regpointofsale.com, designing interfaces for a native Point of Sale app. Prior to their career in design, Gimena worked as a Visual Artist from 2009 to 2015, specializing in photography and digital media. Additionally, they have experience in event coordination and project management, having worked as a Project Coordinator for TomCat Street Festival in 2013 and as a Gallery Assistant - Project Coordinator at Ormston House Gallery from 2011 to 2012. Gimena B. obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Fine Art (First Class Honours) from Limerick School of Art and Design from 2009 to 2012, with a focus on printmaking. In 2013, they pursued a Higher Diploma in Creative Multimedia Programming (First Class Honours) at Limerick Institute of Technology, which concluded in 2014.

In addition to their formal education, Gimena has obtained several certifications. Gimena acquired a UX Certificate from the Nielsen Norman Group in February 2022. In December 2021, they obtained a certification in Systems Thinking from The UnSchool of Disruptive Design. In July 2021, they completed the Facilitation Fundamentals for Co-creation course offered by This is Doing. Other certifications include the Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner certification from IBM in April 2020, and certifications in UX and ROI as well as User Interviews from the Nielsen Norman Group in November 2019.

Gimena's education history also includes completing the Introduction to Mathematical Thinking course on Coursera in May 2013.
