Maribel la Luz

Maribel La Luz has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and positions. Maribel currently serves as the Director of the Minority Business Initiative at the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development. Prior to this role, they were the Director of External Affairs at the same organization.

Earlier in their career, Maribel worked as the Director of Communications for the State of Connecticut - Office of the Governor. Maribel also served as the Director of Communications for the Connecticut Board of Regents for Higher Education.

Before entering the public sector, Maribel gained valuable experience in the private sector. Maribel worked as the Director of Communications + New Media for the City of Hartford, and as the Deputy Communications Director for Clyde Williams for Congress.

Maribel also worked as the Vice President of Communications for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, where they developed and managed organizational branding, messaging, and press strategy. Maribel also co-produced and anchored a nationally syndicated TV series.

In addition, Maribel has experience in business development and account management. Maribel worked as the Manager of Business Development for Alloy Media + Marketing and as a Senior Account Manager for Latin Force, LLC.

Maribel La Luz attended New York University from 2005 to 2006, where they studied Marketing Management. Maribel later pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban and Cultural Studies at The New School. After completing their undergraduate studies, they went on to earn a Masters in Secondary Education from Mercy University.
