Peter Gong

Peter Gong's work experience includes several significant roles in the IT industry. Peter is currently serving as the Director of IT Infrastructure at Connections Health Solutions since June 2021. Before that, they worked as a Senior IT and Cloud Engineer at the same company from March 2020 to May 2021.

Prior to their time at Connections Health Solutions, Peter was employed at CenturyLink for a significant duration. From April 2018 to March 2020, they held the position of Senior Manager of IT Systems Engineering. In this role, they led a team of senior systems engineers, providing data center and on-premises IT operations and support for federal agencies and enterprise customers. Peter also had experience implementing federal government compliance and regulations such as FISMA, FedRAMP, InfoSec, Privacy and HIPAA, and NIST SP 800 standards and controls. Additionally, Peter handled cloud computing, AWS, Azure, server consolidation, and data migration tasks.

Before their tenure as a Senior Manager, Peter worked as a Manager of IT Systems Engineering at CenturyLink for over 13 years, from April 2005 to March 2018. In this role, they were responsible for recruiting, hiring, and managing employees to ensure optimal efficiency, productivity, and profitability for various projects. Peter also conducted regular performance evaluations and collaborated with customers to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

Peter Gong's earlier experience includes working at Savvis, A CenturyLink Company, where they served as a Lead Systems Engineer and Lead Information Systems Engineer. From January 2004 to March 2005, they acted as a customer support manager, leading and coordinating technical support tasks for hosting customers. Between June 2000 and December 2003, they performed professional and managed services for Qwest and CenturyLink hosting customers, creating infrastructure customization and consolidation and managing servers and equipment lifecycle.

Peter's career began at the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) as a Consultant from November 1998 to May 2000. During their time there, they provided technology consulting and technical support to IFC's overseas offices, including creating Windows server installations and establishing worldwide Microsoft Systems Management Servers Infrastructure.

Prior to joining the International Finance Corporation, Peter worked at Siemens USA as an Engineer. From September 1994 to October 1998, they performed and supported Windows NT server setup, configuration, file and print servers, NetWare servers, and clients.

Peter Gong attended UMass Boston from 1991 to 1994 and earned a Master of Arts degree in Education.
