Brian Mecum

Brian Mecum serves as Vice President of the Device Technology organization at Verizon, overseeing a 150-member R&D team dedicated to optimizing device performance and architecture for a substantial market of 30 million new phones, contributing to $20 billion in annual sales. Mecum has held various leadership roles at Verizon, including Vice President of engineering and operations, where management extended over 2,500 employees across major U.S. cities and a $3.4 billion capital expenditure budget. Additional responsibilities included serving as Executive Director for Network Implementation and Engineering, with national and regional oversight for new product integration. As a Board Member of the Connectivity Standards Alliance, Mecum contributes to the advancement of Internet of Things standards. Prior board membership with the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce further showcases commitment to community engagement.
