Laurie O'Hara has extensive experience in the field of education, specifically in special education and student support services. Laurie is currently working as the Director of Special Education at Connetquot Central School District since February 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at South Country School District, including Assistant Director of Student Support Services from February 2016 to February 2021 and Special Education Department Chair from September 2004 to February 2016.
Laurie O'Hara has a strong education background, including a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from SUNY Plattsburgh, which they obtained from 1985 to 1989. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Special Education and Teaching from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, completing their studies from 1997 to 1999. Lastly, Laurie pursued an Advanced Masters degree in School District Administration at Stony Brook University, which they completed from 2013 to 2015.
