Tessa Haagenson has a diverse background in the energy industry. Tessa is currently serving as the Director of Power Supply and Business Development at Connexus Energy, where they previously held the position of Manager in the same department. Prior to their role at Connexus Energy, Haagenson worked as a Board Member at the Rural Renewable Energy Alliance (RREAL). Tessa also gained experience as a Power Origination Manager at Clean Power Alliance and as a Power Resources Manager at Burbank Water & Power. Earlier in their career, Haagenson worked as a Principal Planning Analyst at Great River Energy and as a Senior Engineer, Engineer II, and Engineer I in Policy and Economic Studies at Midcontinent Independent System Operator. Tessa started their professional journey with an internship as a Resource Integration Intern at Midcontinent Independent System Operator, followed by a position as a Student Research Assistant at the University of North Dakota. Tessa Haagenson has a diverse education history. In 2007, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Studies from Bemidji State University. In the following year, Tessa pursued Graduate Studies in Sustainable Energy Management and Planning at Aalborg University. Then, in 2008, they enrolled at the University of North Dakota, where they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering in 2011. Tessa also expanded their language skills by studying Spanish Language and Literature at COINED Spanish School in 2009.

Later on, in 2019, Tessa acquired a Graduate Certificate in Solar Energy from Penn State World Campus. Currently, Tessa is pursuing an Executive MBA in Renewable Energy at the University of Oklahoma, with an expected completion date in 2023.

In terms of additional certifications, Tessa was awarded the title of "Engineer in Training" in 2011, although the specific institution or month of achievement is not provided.
