Bernice Zampano

Bernice Zampano has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Their most recent role is as the CONNEX CT Program Manager at CONNSTEP, Inc., starting in January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the Connecticut Department of Labor for almost two decades. Their role there included being the Operations Coordinator - Performance & Accountability, MIF IWT Program Manager, and EO Officer. In this position, Bernice managed the Manufacturing Innovation Fund Incumbent Worker Training Program, leading a team of nine Business Services Specialists. Bernice also collaborated with the DECD and other public/private partnerships to serve over 500 businesses and train more than 18,000 employees. Apart from their work at the Department of Labor, Bernice volunteered as a Team Manager for the Elite Soccer organization's under 16 girls team at SoccerPlus Elite, Inc. from 2009 to 2014. Additionally, they held positions as a Customized Job Training Specialist and a Business Services Specialist earlier in their career at the Connecticut Department of Labor, where they worked on developing training programs, establishing workforce development plans, and managing apprenticeship programs.

Bernice Zampano earned a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Connecticut, where they studied from 1980 to 1984. Prior to their time at the university, they attended Enrico Fermi High School. In addition to their formal education, Bernice obtained a certification in "The Future of Workplace Learning" from LinkedIn in July 2021.
