Dominic Macklon is Executive vice president, Strategy, Exploration & Technology. In this capacity, he oversees the teams responsible for corporate planning and development, investment evaluation and approvals, exploration, subsurface, information technology, global operations, wells and projects, and technology.

Macklon has more than 25 years of oil and natural gas experience. He previously served as president, Lower 48, overseeing the company’s Lower 48 operations, including the Gulf Coast Business Unit, Great Plains Business Unit, land and commercial gas activities, finance, human resources and health, safety and environment. His earlier leadership roles with the company include serving as vice president, Corporate Planning and Development, president, ConocoPhillips United Kingdom, and senior vice president, Oil Sands.

He began his career with predecessor company Conoco in 1991 and worked in a variety of engineering and business development positions supporting oil and gas operations in the U.K. North Sea. He then held several operations and business development roles in the United States, Australia, Norway and Canada.

Macklon received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Edinburgh in 1991.
