Jack Kittinger

Jack Kittinger is the current VP of Blue Production Program at Conservation International. Jack has always been passionate about the environment and started their career as a social scientist with a focus on the human dimensions of marine ecosystems. Jack then took on a lead scientist role at the Pacific Islands Office for Impact Assessment, Inc. In this role, they were responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments for various development projects in the Pacific Islands region. In 2011, Jack joined Stanford University as a fellow with the Center for Ocean Solutions where they facilitated interdisciplinary ocean science education and research through the Monterey Area Institutions’ Network for Education (MARINE) program. In 2014, Jack left Stanford to join Arizona State University as a research scientist with the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability. In their current role at Conservation International, Jack is leading the Blue Production Program which aims to sustainably increase seafood production to meet the demands of a growing population.

Jack Kittinger received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geography and Marine Policy from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Jack also holds a Master's Degree in Marine and Environmental Science from the University of San Diego, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, Jack Kittinger is certified by the AAUS as a Scientific Diver.

Jack Kittinger reports to Aulani Wilhelm, SVP, Center for Oceans. They are on a team with Laure Katz - VP, Blue Nature, Ashleigh McGovern - VP, Development & Innovation & Director, Partnerships, and Emily Pidgeon - VP, Ocean Science & Innovation.
