Luis Espinel is the current Vice President of Conservation International in Peru. Prior to this, they worked as a consultant for the General Comptroller's Office of the Republic of Peru from June 1998 to August 1998. In this role, they provided advice and support on forestry management aspects in the Environmental Management Audit of INRENA - Project "Forest Management of the Alexander von Humboldt National Forest". Espinel also has experience working in the Peruvian Ministry of the Environment, where they were a member of the Environmental Advisory Commission from August 2017 to August 2020. In this role, they promoted dialogue and consensus-building on environmental issues between the state and society, and advised, analyzed, and responded to queries from the Minister of the Environment. Luis also provided input on environmental matters relating to policies, strategies, and programs at the request of the Minister of the Environment.
Ingeniero Forestal Luis Espinel attended Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina where they studied Ciencias Forestales.
