John Preston

John Preston is an experienced professional in the conservation and charitable sectors, currently serving as a Trustee for Love Leeds Parks since May 2021, where contributions include securing a £250k Heritage Fund bid and establishing the initial staff team. Since March 1989, John has held the position of Development Manager at The Conservation Volunteers, focusing on network development, program delivery, and securing funding across the Leeds to Hull corridor. Previous roles include West Yorkshire Manager and Leeds Project Officer, where John led diverse teams on projects aimed at assisting disadvantaged communities, as well as a Training Officer dedicated to preparing unemployed individuals for the conservation industry. John holds a BSc II(i) in Geography and Statistics from the University of St Andrews, completed in 1986.
