Joseph Emery

Joseph Emery has extensive work experience in mechanical engineering roles. Joseph started their career as a Mechanical Engineer at Sulzer from July 2001 to December 2002. Joseph then worked at Freightliner LLC as a Mechanical Engineer, specializing in driveline vibration calculations and custom component design, from January 2003 to November 2004.

Following that, Emery joined Electro Scientific Industries as a Senior Mechanical & Systems Engineer, where they were responsible for designing sub-systems for automated electronic component test and inspection systems. Joseph worked on tasks such as DUT contacting, motion control, and operator safety from November 2004 to April 2013.

From May 2013 to May 2014, Emery worked at Sigma Design as a Mechanical Engineer. Joseph then joined nLIGHT, where they held various roles, including Senior Mechanical Engineer and Principal Mechanical Engineer. At nLIGHT, they managed capital equipment projects, developed automated production solutions, and led tooling development for a new industrial fiber laser production line. Their time at nLIGHT spanned from May 2014 to December 2022.

Most recently, Joseph Emery joined Consolidated Metco as a Senior Engineer and was subsequently promoted to Lead Engineer in July 2023. The details of their roles and responsibilities at this company have not been provided.

Joseph Emery completed their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Portland State University between 2000 and 2002. Joseph also briefly attended the University of Arizona, College of Optical Sciences in 2012 for a program called Mathematical Methods for Optical Sciences, although they did not obtain a degree in that field. Recently, they obtained a certification in Python Quick Start from LinkedIn in 2022.
