Katharina Hiersemenzel has extensive work experience in the field of copyright law and policy within the entertainment industry. Katharina most recently served as Senior Vice President Public Policy at Constantin Film since June 2020. Prior to that, they held various roles at Netflix, including Director, Global Copyright Policy and Director Public Policy, EMEA, from 2018 to 2020. Katharina also worked at the Motion Picture Association as Copyright Policy Counsel for Europe, Middle East, and Africa from 2013 to 2018, where they were responsible for developing and implementing copyright policy. Earlier in their career, Hiersemenzel worked as General Counsel Business & Legal Affairs at Da Vinci Media GmbH, where they dealt with licensing agreements and copyright issues, and as the owner of their own law firm specializing in copyright matters. Katharina also worked as Head of Legal Affairs at an international film distribution company and as a lawyer at the entertainment law department of SKW Schwarz. Hiersemenzel began their legal career as a paralegal at Banki Haddock Fiora and later at Lausen Rechtsanwälte, where they focused on copyright law and European law.

Katharina Hiersemenzel has a diverse education history. Katharina obtained a Bachelor's degree in Law from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where they studied from 1994 to 2000. Following this, they pursued postgraduate legal studies at Oberlandesgericht München and obtained their 2nd State Exam in law in 2003.

In 2006, Hiersemenzel attended the Institute for Copyright and Media Law (Institut für Urheber- und Medienrecht), specializing in intellectual property and media law. Katharina received the qualification of a "Fachanwalt für Urheber- und Medienrecht," which signifies their expertise in this area.

Continuing their education, Hiersemenzel enrolled in the Harvard Extension School in 2021 to enhance their skills in negotiation. Katharina successfully completed the Advanced Negotiation Skills program, offered through the Professional Development Programs.

Aside from their legal education, Hiersemenzel also pursued other fields of study. In 1989, they graduated from the European School Munich, earning their Abitur with a specialization in the European Baccalaureate. Additionally, they undertook film production studies at Filmschule Hamburg Berlin in 2007, further diversifying their education portfolio.

It is worth noting that Hiersemenzel has obtained additional certifications in Advanced Negotiation Skills from the Professional Development - Harvard Division of Continuing Education, with a completion date in March 2021.
