Gene Shutler was born in Wichita Kansas. He received an A.B. in 1960 from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar, and he received his law degree in 1963 from Yale Law School. Mr. Shutler served (to Captain) in the United States Army from 1963 – 1965.
During his career, Mr. Shutler was the General Counsel for several companies including Caesars World, Inc, MGM Grand, Inc., and Continental Air Services, Inc. He was also a Member of Troy & Gould from 1983 to 1991.
Mr. Shutler has also held several executive positions with companies including President of Atlantic Crossing from 1997-2000, with postings in Bermuda and Dublin, Ireland. He currently manages his own investments. Mr. Shutler currently serves on the Board of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. He previously served on CRF’s Board of Directors from 1976 – 1997, stepping down when he moved out of the country. He is married to Lois Evans, and they reside in Santa Monica.
