Ren Essene

Ren Essene is an experienced professional in data management and policy analysis, currently serving as the Chief Data Officer at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau since August 2011, with a history of roles including Acting Chief Data Officer and Manager of the Policy Section. Prior experience includes working as a Supervisory Policy Analyst at the Federal Reserve Board and a Policy Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Ren began a career in research as a Research Analyst at Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies and was the Founding Executive Director of HomeWord. Ren holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
