Khalisa Phillips, Ph.D., serves as a Product Usability & Safety Scientist at the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) since November 2010, specializing in the evaluation of children's products, playgrounds, and toys while demonstrating expertise in CPSC regulations and standards. Previous experience includes a Visiting Postdoctoral Intern role at the National Institutes of Health, contributing to a significant research review on media technology's impact on disadvantaged children's achievement gaps, as well as serving as a Predoctoral Intramural Research Fellow, focusing on social support, stress, and the effects of early neglect. Khalisa also has teaching experience as a Graduate Instructor at the University of Maryland and has contributed to child temperament research as a Research Assistant at the Child Development Laboratory. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Human Development from the University of Maryland, an MA in Mind, Brain, and Education from Harvard University, and a BA in Psychology/Biology from Marlboro College.
