Shelby Mathis is a seasoned compliance investigator with extensive experience in regulatory enforcement and intellectual property. Currently serving as Supervisory Compliance Investigator for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission since November 2016, Shelby has assumed roles such as Acting Deputy Director of Compliance and Field Operations and Small Business Ombudsman. Prior experience includes positions as Technology Licensing Associate at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures and Director of Intellectual Property at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Shelby began a legal career as an Associate Attorney at Oravec Law Group, LLC and Borgeson & Burns, PC. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from McNeese State University.
