Laura van Hyfte

Laura Van Hyfte is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in energy law and counsel positions. Currently serving as Senior Attorney at Consumers Energy since October 2024, Laura previously held the role of Commercial Solar Counsel at Dynamic Energy from June 2023 to October 2024, and was a Shareholder at The Van Hyfte Law Firm PLC from March 2021 to June 2023. Laura provided business and commercial counsel for various businesses between October 2011 and June 2023, and gained experience as an Attorney-Counselor at the University of Michigan Law School during a one-year guest advisory role from August 2018 to July 2019. Laura's academic credentials include a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Michigan Law School (2008-2011) and a Bachelor's degree with double majors in English Language and Literature/Letters and Political Science from the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (2004-2007).
