Gary Freedman

Gary Freedman is an experienced professional in the renewable energy sector, currently serving as the Owner's Representative for Contact Energy Ltd at the Kōwhai Park solar farm. As the founder of ElectricAir, Freedman is pioneering electric aviation in New Zealand. Previously, Freedman held roles such as Operations Director NZ for Harmony Energy, where development of solar projects took place, and Consultant for Meridian Energy, focusing on commercial solar and electric vehicle infrastructure. Additional experience includes serving as Commercial Director at Airvolution Energy, where wind farm development and acquisition were central, and as New Business Manager at RES Group, exploring market opportunities in wind and solar. Notably, Freedman led the Merchant Wind Power department at Ecotricity. Educational background includes a BSc (Hons) in Business Information Technology from Manchester Metropolitan University.
