Murray Watson

Murray Watson has extensive experience in asset management and maintenance within the energy sector, having worked at Contact Energy Ltd since February 2000. Currently serving as the Decommissioning Asset Manager for the Te Rapa site, Murray is responsible for routine maintenance and outage management at both the Te Rapa Cogeneration Power Station and Whirinaki Peaker Power Station. Previous roles included Asset Manager and Maintenance Coordinator, where responsibilities entailed overseeing maintenance activities and organizing annual outages. Prior to this, Murray held the position of Maintenance Supervisor at NZED from April 1982 to February 2000, focusing on gas turbine maintenance and operations. Education was completed at Stratford High School.
