Taria Tahana is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in sustainability, policy development, and community engagement. Currently serving as the Head of Sustainability at Contact Energy Ltd since February 2022, Taria previously held the position of Principal Advisor at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade, where leadership was demonstrated in advancing Māori economic inclusion during New Zealand's hosting of APEC 2021. Prior roles include Policy Manager for Te Puni Kokiri, where significant contributions were made to the Māori economy and international trade, and General Manager of Te Pumautanga o Te Arawa Trust, leading community cohesion initiatives. Taria has held ministerial appointments, served on various trusts, and operated a consultancy focusing on Māori and government organizations. Education includes governance and executive management training from reputable institutions, complemented by a Bachelor's degree from The University of Waikato.
