Jay began working in the crowd management industry while serving in the United States Air Force where he worked with Security Forces in the development and strategic planning to control the movement of large crowds for Presidential and Heads of State Visits, Air Shows, and recruiting volunteers for the 1996 Summer Olympics.
In 2001, Jay was named Assistant Branch Manager for CSC at the Georgia Dome where he was responsible to assist with the guest services and crowd management operation. In 2002, upon his 20yr retirement from the USAF, Jay was promoted to Branch Manager, moved and opened an expansion office at Auburn University where he managed the day to day operations and developed the crowd management & security plans for Jordan-Hare Stadium, Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum, and Hitchcock Field at Plainsman Park.
In 2003, after establishing the Auburn office, Jay was promoted to CSC Branch Manager for both the Atlanta and Auburn offices and relocated back to the Georgia Dome where he lead and managed the overall operation for both offices that included the NFL Atlanta Falcons, the SEC Football Championship, the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament, University of Georgia and Auburn Athletic Events, Monster Jam, Supercross, and the Professional Bull Riders Tour, over 300 concerts, festivals, and special events, with artist such as, U2, Metallica, Aerosmith, KISS, Kenny Chesney, Carlos Santana, Jimmy Buffet, and the Dave Matthews Band. During this time he also developed, coordinated, and/or managed several security plans for major conventions and trade shows held at the Georgia World Congress Center for Microsoft, Herb-a-life, Primerica, Cardiology, AFCOM, T.D. Jakes Mega Fest and others. In 2005, Jay received the CSC Branch Manager of the Year Award and was promoted to Southeast Regional Manager and was responsible for new business development in North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama while also overseeing branch operations and managing a staff of more than 3,000 employees.
A veteran of 6 Super Bowls and 6 NCAA Men’s & Women’s Final Fours, Jay was managing one of the largest operations in CSC’s corporate system when he was promoted and named Vice President of CSC Nevada in 2010. He is the Qualifying Agent for CSC’s State of Nevada Private Patrolman License (PILB) and is responsible for ensuring that CSC and their employees are in compliance with state statutes & regulations. He is also responsible for generating and maintaining new and existing business while overseeing Branch Operations in Las Vegas & Reno.
Since opening the Las Vegas Branch, Jay has worked closely with our clients, focusing on their vision to create both a safe and secure environment while delivering a “wow experience” for their guests who attend their events. He has written the security plans and/or managed several large events such as the Electric Daisy Carnival, Rock In Rio USA, races held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Shriners Hospital for Children Open at TPC Summerlin, the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Downtown Las Vegas, and the Vans Warped Tour, 48Hours Festival, Route 91 Harvest Festival, and iHeartRadio Music Festival held at the MGM Village. Jay has also managed numerous special events, conventions, and tradeshows at the Las Vegas Convention Center, MGM Grand Conference Center, Caesar’s Palace, Paris, Bally’s, Planet Hollywood, Westgate Resorts, and The Mirage.
Jay is a member of the International Association of Exhibitions & Events (IAEE), American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Collegiate Event and Facilities Management Association (CEFMA), Collegiate Athletic Operations Services (CAOS), and holds the Department of Homeland Security ICS/NIMS 100, 200, 700a and 800a certifications, ICS 15. b Special Events Contingency Planning for Public Safety, ICS 106.11 Workplace Violence Awareness Training, ICS 906.11 Workplace Security Awareness, ICS 907 Active Shooter: What You Can Do, and has completed the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) Trained Crowd Manager (TCM) Course.
