Paul McDermott began his career with CSC in 1998 as an Event Staff and was promoted to Supervisor, Event Manager and eventually to CSC Venue Manager at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. During this time, Paul oversaw operations for numerous major events including Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival, Van’s Warp Tour and various other concerts. He also managed MLB Angels Baseball including the 2002 World Series and 2010 All Star Game and Fan Fest.
In 2005, Paul was promoted to Branch Manager and established the Orange County branch office. He was responsible for its overall operations including recruiting, hiring, and training of staff as well as planning, scheduling, and managing events. In addition to maintaining its current clients, Paul was instrumental in securing several unified school district clients, to which CSC Orange County provides services during football games and other school activities. In 2009, Paul was on the management team which opened the CSC Kansas City Branch. Paul also opened the CSC San Diego branch office in 2010 and immediately acquired Comic-Con International: San Diego as one of its main events.
In 2012, Paul became the lead CSC project manager for the Bullhead City River Regatta, an annual event that takes place on the Colorado River. In addition to coordinating the staffing of more than 500 employees from six CSC Branches for the event, Paul established a crew of ocean-certified lifeguards that patrol the river during the Regatta to assist law enforcement with maintaining order and safety of the participants.
Paul is also credited with establishing the CSC Bicycle Security Program. He has acquired over 120 bicycles, trained hundreds of crew members, and created a training program that is part of the official CSC training curriculum.
At the end of 2015, Paul was promoted to Corporate Director - Business Development. In this role, he evaluates, completes, and submits proposals in response to Request For Proposals and other documents soliciting business.
Paul has been on numerous Transition Teams for branches and venues including the startup operations for Orange County, San Diego, San Bernardino, Kansas City, and Spokane.
Paul is very knowledgeable with Microsoft 365 products and has developed various desktop app solutions for CSC. He also oversees the rollout and implementation to the branch offices for Teams, Microsoft’s collaboration product. Teams are a critical part of CSC’s operations during the COVID-19 Era, allowing business to continue under Stay-At-Home orders.
