Clara Rose Thornton has a long history of working in the media industry. Clara Rose began their career in 2002 as a Radio and TV Broadcaster, Culture Journalist, Novel/Project Editor, and Copywriter for InkBlot Complex. Clara Rose also facilitated literature workshops and produced events such as Word Battle: Uptown Poetry Slam Field Trip from Soho House Chicago and Page to Stage Slam Poetry Workshop at Soho House Chicago. Thornton then moved on to work as a Journalism ALM Candidate at Harvard University in 2022. In 2020, they became a Literacy Enrichment Teacher at Catapult Learning, and in 2015 they began working as a Brand Journalist and Content Marketer for Contently, as well as a Culture Journalist and Spoken Word Performer for District. In 2013, they became a Television and Radio Broadcast Journalist for RTE. In 2009, they were a Regional Correspondent (Vermont, New Hampshire, New York City) for Artscope, a Sociopolitics and Arts Reporter for The Commons, and a Weekly Columnist and Regional Arts Correspondent for Rutland Herald. Finally, in 2008 they became a Social Media Manager, Calendar Editor, Columnist, and Staff Writer for Vermont Arts & Living.

Clara Rose Thornton began their educational journey in 1995 at Morgan Park Academy, where they had an honors focus on English literature, composition, and the humanities. Clara Rose then attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Cinema Studies in 2003. Finally, in 2022, they began their Master of Liberal Arts in Journalism at Harvard University.
