Karsten Michels

Karsten Michels has extensive experience in the automotive and engineering sectors, having held significant leadership roles across major companies. Currently, Karsten is the Head of Product Line High-Performance Computer and Senior Vice President for Research and Advanced Development at Continental since 2016. Prior to this, Karsten served as Vice President of Research and Development at Siemens and held various senior positions at Magna International, including Head of Global Advanced Engineering for Magna Electronics Europe. Karsten's career began at Volkswagen AG, where notable positions included Head of Main-Department System Integration. Additionally, Karsten's work at ŠKODA AUTO a.s. encompassed leading electric and electronic development. Karsten earned a Doctor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Technische Universität Braunschweig, with a PhD thesis focused on developing controlled cooling systems.
