Tom Maguire is a seasoned law enforcement professional currently serving as a Deputy Sheriff and Recruiting Deputy for Contra Costa County since February 2020. Prior to this, Tom retired from the California Highway Patrol after a distinguished career spanning over two decades, which included roles such as Motor Officer and District Director for a union representing 6,500 officers. Tom possesses extensive training and certifications in various law enforcement and public safety areas, including advanced officer safety, accident investigation, and dignitary protection. Tom's military background includes service in the US Navy, where Tom held the rank of Petty Officer First Class and completed advanced technical training in nuclear power and engineering.
