Diara Santiago González, PhD has a diverse work experience. Diara began their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Puerto Rico in 2009, where they worked on a Novel asymmetric Diels-Alders reaction. In 2010 and 2011, they worked as an Undergraduate Summer Researcher at the University of Kentucky and Rutgers University, respectively. From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Graduate Assistant at the Hunter James Kelly Research Institute, where they focused on brain development, studying the development of the oligodendroglial cell lineages in the central nervous system in normal, mutant and transgenic mice. In 2017, they became a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute for Myelin and Glia Exploration. Most recently, in 2020, they began working as a Senior Scientist at Convelo Therapeutics, Inc.

Diara Santiago González, PhD, began their educational journey in 2004 at Colegio Madre Cabrini where they completed their high school studies. Diara then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the Universidad de Puerto Rico from 2008 to 2012. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology from the University at Buffalo in 2017.
