Steve Collins

Steve Collins has an extensive work history in data and analytic product management. Steve worked as the Head of Data and Analytic Product at Convera from 2023 and previously held similar roles at NYDIG and Digital Assets Data. During their time at NYDIG, they played a pivotal role in establishing and expanding the Data Science and Analytics department. Prior to that, they were a Principal Data Scientist at AArete, where they defined job prerequisites and implemented advanced tabular and multidimensional data warehouse models. Steve also has experience in academia, serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois Chicago and working on commercializing cryptography education programs. Additionally, they have a background in intelligence analysis and held roles such as Senior Director of Advanced Analytics at the 244th Digital Liaison Detachment and Analytics Director for the Special Operations Team Bravo at the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne). Steve also worked as a Senior Counter-Terrorism Data and Reporting Analyst at the National Security Agency/Central Security Service.

Steve Collins has an extensive education history. Steve obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Business Analytics (Information and Decision Sciences) with a focus on Predictive Modeling and Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) Application from the University of Illinois Chicago-College of Business Administration in 2017. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (M.S.) in Management Information Systems (Information and Decision Sciences) with a specialization in Big Data Architecture and Data Governance from the same university in 2016. In 2013, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Illinois Chicago-College of Business Administration, with a focus on Technology Entrepreneurship, International Business (which included two study abroad programs), and Marketing. Steve also participated in study abroad programs at EM Normandie Business School in 2015 and FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas in 2014. Before pursuing their master's degrees, Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence Studies (B.A.) from American Military University in 2012. Additionally, they received training in Intelligence Collection, Advanced Analytics, and Reporting from the National Cryptologic School (NSA/CSS) between 2007 and 2011. Steve served in the U.S. Army from 2005 to 2014, primarily focusing on Military Intelligence, Command Control, and Information Operations. To further enhance their skills, they have also obtained various certifications in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis, including courses from LinkedIn, Microsoft, IBM, FourthBrain, Scrimba, DeepLearning.AI, Coursera, and DataCamp.
