Vlad Podgurschi

Vlad P. has a diverse range of work experience. Vlad started their career as a Summer Intern at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management in 2014, where they conducted foreign exchange market analysis and developed an equity screening tool. In 2015, they worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they modeled temperature profiles of spent fuel assemblies and performed finite-element analysis. From 2016 to 2021, Vlad pursued a PhD at Imperial College London, focusing on researching metal corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. Vlad also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant during this time. After completing their PhD, Vlad joined Democrance as a Software Engineer in 2021, where they worked until early 2023. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at Converge, a position they have held since February 2023. Vlad's experience spans various fields, including engineering, research, teaching, and software development.

Vlad P. began their education journey in 2012 at Imperial College London, where they pursued a Masters of Engineering (MEng) degree in Materials with Nuclear Engineering. This program lasted for four years, with Vlad completing their studies in 2016. During this time, they also earned an Associateship of the Royal School of Mines (ARSM).

After completing their MEng, Vlad continued their studies at Imperial College London and embarked on a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Materials Science and Engineering, with a specialization in Nuclear Engineering. This PhD program spanned from 2016 to 2021, encompassing five years of intensive research and academic development.

In addition to their formal education, Vlad P. obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. In January 2016, they acquired a certification in R Programming from Coursera Course Certificates. Subsequently, in February 2016, they completed a Machine Learning course from the same institution. Moreover, in April 2015, Vlad attained the Associate Fellow of The Higher Education Academy certification from Advance HE, which demonstrates their commitment to teaching and learning in higher education.
