Kelly Senecal has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. In 1997, they became the Owner and Vice President of Convergent Science, a leading company in Computational Fluid Dynamics software. During their time there, they played a key role in revolutionizing the CFD industry with the development of the groundbreaking CONVERGE™ software, which removes the user-defined mesh and implements a revolutionary new process.

In 2000, Senecal worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before moving on to co-found MyVirtualBand.com in 2004. This pioneering website allowed for online collaboration in creating open-source music. The website was later acquired by NetMusicMakers in 2006.

Senecal continued their academic pursuits and took on the role of Adjunct Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018. Kelly also co-founded the Computational Chemistry Consortium in 2016. Their dedication to academic and scientific research led to their appointment as a Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford in 2021.

Kelly Senecal completed their high school education at Petoskey High School from 1987 to 1991. Afterwards, Kelly pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1995 to 1997. Finally, they obtained a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, completing their studies in 2000.
