Pedram Tazraei

Senior Research Engineer at Convergent Science

Pedram Tazraei, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of mechanical engineering and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Pedram is currently working as a Senior Research Engineer at Convergent Science, starting in May 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a CFD Research Engineer at Convergent Science from January 2020 to May 2021.

Pedram also worked as a CFD Researcher at Texas A&M University from August 2014 to December 2019. During their tenure at the university, they focused on analyzing smooth-body flow separation, studying turbulence in spatially evolving boundary layers, and conducting scale-resolving simulation of the natural laminar-to-turbulent K-type transition.

Pedram gained industry experience as a Physics Validation Engineer at Dassault Systèmes from January 2019 to June 2019. Additionally, Pedram worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Andisheh Negar Pars Co. from January 2014 to July 2014, and as a CFD Engineer at Mangan Machine Manufacturing Co. from January 2013 to December 2013.

Pedram's research experience also includes working as a Research Engineer at the University of Tehran from September 2010 to January 2013. Pedram'swork involved collaborating in lab testing and data analysis of fast transient hammer flows, conducting numerical analysis of transient flow in hydroelectric power plants, and studying heat transfer of nano-fluid flows.

Earlier in their career, Pedram worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Golestan White Palace Co. from August 2009 to August 2010. Pedram also gained experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad-FUM from September 2005 to July 2009. Pedram started their career as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Bard Azar Co. from June 2008 to August 2008.

Dr. Pedram Tazraei holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, which they obtained from 2005 to 2009. Pedram further pursued their education at the University of Tehran, where they completed their Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2010 to 2013. Dr. Tazraei continued their academic journey at Texas A&M University, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from 2014 to 2019.
